About the Artist

Adam Himoff is a contemporary artist born in New York City in 1976.

In his childhood, Adam was heavily influenced by New York’s rich multi-culturalism and the abundance of art surrounding him from graffiti to public works to museum masterworks.

His artistic training was largely self-directed and included classes at the Art Students League of New York, Rhode Island School of Design, and Dartmouth College, where he graduated magna cum laude in 1998 with a BA in English Literature.

Following college, Adam worked for several decades in finance and venture capital in New York City and Los Angeles, often juggling time with his artistic projects. He finally returned to art full-time in 2022 and now lives in Park City, UT with his family.

In his art practice, Adam uses abundant linework of varying tones (and colors) to construct high-energy representational images that punch forward with the illusion of three-dimensionality as lines both simultaneously fuse to capture the subject in vivid portraiture and disassociate to create a swarm of assertive abstractions. “Line style” was born from Adam’s previous work in linocut printmaking and is heavily influenced by his longtime fascination with Japanese prints and German expressionist woodcuts.

Thematically, his art explores the intersection between lines and life, exposing truths through the suspension of reality and the juxtaposition of imagery and iconography.

We encourage Adam’s fans to stay in touch, follow him on Instagram, and keep their eyes peeled for new work!
