About the Artist

Adam Himoff’s distinct style, which he terms "Linear Dynamism," arose from his early explorations in woodcut printmaking and his childhood in New York City, where he was surrounded by a rich tapestry of graffiti, public works, and masterworks. His art actively manipulates lines and the juxtaposition of subjects to delve into the complexities of the modern world. The resulting compositions present a captivating paradox—a visual experience that both excites and calms the mind as the viewer unravels its multifaceted layers. Himoff works across diverse media including painting, linocut printmaking, and meticulously crafted laser-cut metal sculptures.

Born in New York City, Himoff studied visual art at the Art Students League of New York, the Rhode Island School of Design, and Dartmouth College. Following a career in finance and entrepreneurship, he transitioned to become a full-time professional artist in 2022. This unique background informs his artistic practice, blending technical mastery with a deep, intellectual curiosity about the human condition and the dynamic world around him.

Through his work, Himoff grapples with core themes of technology, futurism, and humanity's often-perverse relationship with nature. He is deeply fascinated by what we idolize in lieu of traditional religion and how culture applies a "glossy coat of varnish" to everything around us. As Himoff states, “I break down familiar imagery and iconography and reconstruct it anew using the visual language of line abstraction in unexpected and stimulating ways, to encourage powerful reactions and provoke questions, reflections, and revelations.”

We encourage Adam’s collectors and fans to stay in touch, follow him on Instagram, and stay tuned for new work!
