Luke + Vader - Linocut Print (40" x 22") - Limited Edition
The print portrays Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader as a reimagining of Michaelangelo's "Adam and God" (from the Sistine Chapel). This piece sits thematically within a series of linocut prints that I have created over the last three years that I call “Icons” a combination of religious iconography and the cultural icons of our era. In many ways, these characters have assumed a significance equal to that of religious figures. We love them (because they resonate perfectly within our times and lives), but it’s this nearly universal “shared love” that makes them such a remarkable cultural phenomenon.
All prints will be hand-printed using high-quality relief ink on hand-torn 40” x 22” archival BFK print paper. They will also be numbered, titled, dated, and signed by me. The purchase price for the prints will be $200 each plus shipping costs.
